CISOA-3CBG Annual Conference, March 18-21, 2018CISOA and 3CBG have announced a Call for Proposals for their annual conference. If you have a success story or presentation you would like to share with your colleagues, proposals will be accepted through Oct. 27, 2017.

The CISOA-3CBG conference will take place in Ontario, Calif., Sunday, March 18, 2018, through Wednesday, March 21, 2018. With this year’s theme, “Pathways to Student Success,” the conference committee is seeking presentation proposals that highlight successful initiatives, programs or processes that:

  • Use technology to support Guided Pathways
  • Increase information security
  • Provide updates on changes to current law
  • Demonstrate advances within the Ellucian ERP system
  • Review successful technology projects
  • Focus on technology leadership

As with the 2017 conference, the California Community Colleges (CCC) Technology Center has been given an exclusive half-day time slot. “Tech Center Sunday” will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018, with sessions focused on information security, accessibility and identity management.

Awards Nominations Sought

In addition, nominations are now open for the CISOA and Chancellor’s Office Technology Awards. The Chancellor’s Office and CISOA have partnered to solicit nominations in three distinct categories:

  1. The Chancellor’s Office Technology Focus Award is project- or program-focused, and recognizes colleges that have identified and solved significant problems to the benefit of students, staff and/or faculty.

  2. The Chancellor’s Office Technology Leadership Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary effectiveness, influence, diplomacy and career achievement within the field of higher educational technology management, on both individual campuses and in the greater California community college system.

  3. The CISOA Technology Excellence Award recognizes demonstrated excellence through technological advancement by a District CISO or IT staff member at a district or college. This can include but is not limited to: green initiatives, development of new applications, infrastructure advancements, or successful implementation of a technology plan or initiative.

Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 2, 2018. Winners will be notified by the end of February and recognized at the CISOA-3CBG Annual Conference, March 18-21, 2018.
