WCET 29th Annual Meeting, Oct. 25-27, 2017Registration is now open for the 29th Annual Meeting of WCET, a collective of higher education institutions, organizations and companies dedicated to improving the quality and reach of distance education programs. The event will take place Oct. 25-27, 2017, in Denver.

Register by Friday, Sept. 22, to receive the early bird discount. The member rate of $655 is available to California Community Colleges (CCC) employees through the CCC Chancellor’s Office membership. Registration is $795 for non-members.

Conference Program

The WCET conference program includes diverse ideas and institutions, and is a mix of facilitated discussions, in-depth deep-dive sessions on a trending topic or issue, an edtech meet and greet, and panel presentations. The preliminary program and list of speakers can be found on the event website. Additional sessions will be added.

The event will kick-off at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, with a keynote address by Mike Hess from the Blind Institute of Technology. The conference will conclude at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, with the Stump the Higher Ed Expert interactive general session. Preconference workshops will take place Wednesday morning. These are free to WCET members, and available for a small charge to non-members.

State Authorization Network Meeting

WCET's State Authorization Network (SAN) will meet prior to the conference, on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The event is open to SAN Coordinators.

All meeting participants interested in learning from WCET about state authorization are encouraged to participate in a State Authorization Issue Training Workshop on Wednesday morning. WCET offers this workshop to provide all institution staff with what they need to know about state and federal regulatory compliance for the out-of-state activities of the institution.
