TechEX17 - Internet2 2017 Technology Exchange ConferenceA call for Gender Diversity Scholarship applicants is open for the Internet2 2017 Technology Exchange Conference (TechEX17), being held in San Francisco this October. Scholarship applications will be accepted through Aug. 18.

Internet2 will award two scholarships to support the attendance of women who are either entering the information technology field or are early in their professional careers. The awards will cover costs for travel and housing expenses as well as conference registration fees. More information about the scholarships can be found here.

A technology partner of the California Community Colleges, Internet2 is a member of the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California (CENIC) and operator of the InCommon trust/identity and security certificates services.

TechEX17 Program Highlights

The 2017 Technology Exchange will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Embarcadero Center from Oct. 15 through Oct. 18. Registration is open, with tiered pricing based on membership or non-membership status. Prices will increase on Sept. 16.

Conference tracks will cover advanced networking, information security, trust and identity, applications for research and web-scale computing. Highlights include:

  • Monday: “SCinet: Advanced Training and Professional Development for Network Engineers - The WINS Experience;” “The Great Federation Showdown: IdP versus SP;” and “Hands-On RPKI”

  • Tuesday: “Escaping the Bait Bucket: How a Successful Phishing Attack Led to MFA and more;” “DDoS Mitigation Update - TechEx Edition!” and “Global Service Platforms for Precision Agriculture”

  • Wednesday: “Pacific Research Platform: Accelerating Discovery;” “Accelerated Cloud Adoption using DevSecOps;” and “Cloud Security, Privacy, Data Protection Best Practices"
