Foundation for California Community CollegesNew network security solutions are available to California community colleges through CollegeBuys, a program of the Foundation for California Community Colleges that negotiates discounted pricing for the colleges on a wide range of educational products.

Carbon Black and PortalGuard are now available through an agreement with integrated information technology solutions provider CDW-G, competitively bid by the University of California system. Additionally, the Foundation worked with PortalGuard to secure a special pricing agreement which further lowers pricing for these products in the CDW-G catalog.

Carbon Black is an end-point security platform that defends organizations from modern-day attacks with its unique zero-gap protection. PortalGuard is private-cloud authentication software that allows single sign-on standardization of logins.

Discounts On Wide Range Of Products

CollegeBuys can streamline the procurement process on behalf of a college or district by securing contracts that comply with California Public Contract Code, and—by aggregating the buying power of the 113 community colleges—offer significant cost savings as well.

The organization also partners with the California Higher Education Strategic Sourcing Initiative (CHESS) to duplicate existing California State University and University of California vendor contracts, and adapt them to CCC business processes.

Recent additions to the CollegeBuys catalog include Wi-Fi hotspot device and service through California Connects, and online proctoring software through Proctorio. Visit for a complete list of technology, software and furniture products available to the colleges, faculty/staff and students.
