2016workshopseries sessions addedNew sessions have been added to the 2016 CCCApply and California Electronic Transcripts workshops, a two-day event geared toward technology, enrollment, student services and administration staff from across California higher education.

The workshops, being held March 22-23 at Fullerton College in Fullerton, Calif., are free to attend. Registration will remain open until a week before the event, space permitting. To register yourself and your colleagues for one or both days, visit the workshops event page.

Each year, the CCCApply and eTranscript California steering committees organize the two days of workshops to connect with colleagues at other institutions and discuss issues unique to CCCApply, the online application to the California Community Colleges (CCC), and electronic transcript exchange across California, including the California State University (CSU), University of California (UC) and private universities.

Day One, intended for CCC personnel, is focused on the OpenCCCApply and international applications, with sessions designed for new and experienced users, alike. Day Two covers electronic transcripts and is open to attendees from all higher-education institutions in California.

CCCApply Workshop, March 22

This year's CCCApply Workshop will focus on helping users get the most out of their OpenCCCApply implementations. Sessions will also explore the statewide technology initiatives, including a demonstration of the new Student Services Portal and an introduction to education planning and degree audit tools being piloted by the CCC Education Planning Initiative.

New to this workshop, Day One will feature a computer lab, which will be open throughout the day for attendees to explore features of CCCApply and the international application. Assistance will be provided by the OpenCCCApply support staff from 11:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A lunch-time presentation has also been added, which will provide a demonstration of the new support site. The demo will cover how to follow posts and category pages, allowing users to decide how much information to receive via email notifications, as well as how to submit a support request, alert the community to an issue, and interact with other users of OpenCCCApply.

Electronic Transcripts, March 23

The California Electronic Transcripts workshop has announced a new session focused on the CCC’s new Bachelor’s Degree program. Geared toward articulation, admissions and records, counseling and other professionals advising students, the session will focus on approved pilot programs, program effective dates, approved program structure, major requirements, GE curriculum and general admission requirements.

Day Two will also feature a panel discussion on processing and redirecting Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) degrees from the perspective of CCC and CSU staff members. The session will focus on not only the technical aspects of how ADT degrees are processed, but also the business process of identifying and handling them from both the sending and receiving institutions’ perspective.

The session is designed to allow CSU and CCC attendees to communicate directly regarding the end-to-end process of ADTs. It is also an opportunity to share best practices to improve and facilitate the processing of the prospective ADT students’ applications.

For registration and more information on workshop sessions, location and where to stay, visit the 2016 CCCApply and California Electronic Transcripts Workshops event page.
