OLC logo 2016The Online Learning Consortium (OLC) invites distance education professionals from around the country to come together to share ideas and explore emerging technologies and techniques at two springtime conferences.

Registration is open for both conferences: OLC Collaborate in Los Angeles, March 2; and OLC Innovate in New Orleans, April 20-22.

OLC Collaborate

Register soon for OLC Collaborate Los Angeles, hosted by California State University-Los Angeles. Space at this March 2 event is limited.

OLC is coming to Los Angeles for a day focused on Textbook Affordability Initiatives. The 2015 College Textbook Affordability Act (AB 798) may provide you with funding, but how can your institution successfully plan and implement programs while still achieving the cost savings for students as well as the academic quality, academic freedom and faculty professional development goals of the institution?

Spend an intensive, interactive and collaborative day with OLC to:

  • Participate in the "Textbook Affordability Initiatives" discussion and share in an open dialogue with other colleagues from around the region.
  • Hear from keynote speakers that will offer insightful views of the textbook affordability initiatives through short, focused presentations.
  • Delve into each topic in greater detail and help your campus plan for textbook affordability projects. Presentations will be followed by facilitator-led discussions; breakout sessions will be sorted by audience interests, institutions, and readiness.
  • Document the discussions throughout the day. OLC Collaborate session archivists will culminate discussions in a collaborative regional response to these textbook affordability initiatives.

Education innovation: It’s how we, as a community, continue to thrive in this rapidly changing learning environment. It’s how we respond to, revolve around and guide student success and satisfaction. Whether embracing emerging tech, incorporating intelligent learning management systems, or designing blended classrooms, now more than ever it is imperative that academic leaders, faculty and administrators alike come together to ensure that our pedagogies are progressive, organic and continually break new ground.

olc innovate 2016Advancing education innovation requires continuous visionary leadership from all disciplines. And that’s why we’re inviting you to join us in New Orleans this coming April.

At OLC Innovate, we will conduct a series of engaging hands-on workshops aimed at fostering organic interactions and collaborative cross-disciplinary problem solving. Together we will build new foundations for stronger, better higher education environments. And because innovation scales best when ideas are shared, our work sessions will explore emerging technologies and adapted teaching behaviors aimed at informing policy, inspiring leadership, and evolving practice at all levels impacting institutions, universities and colleges.

Advancing education innovation begins with you. And it all starts at OLC Innovate. Please be there.
