CCC Online Education InitiativeA formal process has begun to solicit proposals from qualified vendors for a Common Course Management System (CCMS) that is the main thrust of the California Community Colleges (CCC) Online Education Initiative (OEI).

The Request for Proposals (RFP) can be viewed on the OEI project website at http://ccconlineed.org/ccms-rfp-notice. Proposals can be submitted to the CCC Technology Center by 5 p.m. on Nov. 26. Please use this link to submit a proposal.

A CCMS is seen as a more efficient and effective way of delivering online courses, supplemental materials to traditional courses, and other related services to community colleges throughout the state. Eight colleges will pilot the CCMS starting in Summer 2015.

Through the RFP, the OEI aims to secure a five-year contract that provides a purchasing and pricing framework for the CCC Technology Center to license the CCMS software and services.

For interested vendors, a non-mandatory, pre-proposal phone conference is being held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3. Call-in details are posted at http://ccconlineed.org/ccms-rfp-notice.
