The California Community Colleges (CCC) Chief Information Systems Officers Association (CISOA) is seeking nomination of distinguished technology innovators for its 2010 awards. The nomination period ends January 31, 2010.

Information systems professionals face many unique challenges within the CCC system. CISOA members communicate, share and collaborate around these challenges in order to improve the effectiveness of all. The specific purpose of CISOA includes the following areas of focus:

  • To provide direction to information systems professionals in California’s community colleges;
  • To provide for professional growth and development of association members;
  • To provide an efficient vehicle for communicating among information systems officers, other community college personnel, the CCC Chancellor's Office and other state agencies;
  • To increase recognition of the value and necessity of information systems for effective planning and management of individual districts and California’s community colleges as a whole.

The CISOA Board has developed a process to recognize excellence by our members in support of their colleges and we are now asking for nominations. Three award categories have been put into place.

Campus Technology Innovator in Technology Planning:

The recipient played a prominent role in evaluating information technology variables and developing a strategic plan of action that advances the college mission. This can include development of a strategic technology plan, disaster recovery, network design, implementation or advancement of telephony or IP service, ERP project management or any technology initiative.

Campus Technology Innovator in Technology Excellence:

The recipient played a prominent role in advancing campus efficiencies with technology solutions. This can include green initiatives, the development of new applications, infrastructure advancements or another initiative that was resolved with a technology component.

CISOA Board Award: Campus Technology Innovator of Distinction:

The recipient is recognized for service to CISOA, service to the colleges, and/or outstanding leadership in the evolution of technology.

To gather information upon which to base CISOA awards, the CISOA Board asks that you take a few minutes to reflect on your accomplishments or your colleagues’ accomplishments during this year (Jan 2009-Dec 2009) and share some of your successes with us. <>
