Guided Pathways 101: AACC Western Regional Workshop

Westin Denver International Airport
Denver, CO
October 2, 2019

The day-long workshop (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) will involve advance work submitted by the college team prior to the event, including a self-assessment of current institutional practice and readiness for pathways reform; a combination of expert presentations, college practice examples, and college team discussions; and a short-term action plan to be drafted by the team at the workshop, discussed on campus, and submitted to AACC by four weeks after the event.

Topics to be addressed include the guided pathways model; case making and leadership for large-scale institutional change; strategies for campus-wide engagement in considering, designing, and implementing pathways at scale; and approaches to planning the work. AACC’s Pathways Partner organizations are involved in planning the workshops, and several partners will be involved in conducting each of the regional offerings. The partners are: Achieving the Dream, Aspen Institute College Excellence Program, Carnegie Math Pathways/WestEd, Center for Community College Student Engagement, Community College Research Center, Complete College America, Dana Center Mathematics Pathways (The University of Texas), Jobs for the Future, NCII, and SOVA.
