eTranscript CaliforniaeTranscript California, the statewide electronic transcript exchange developed under the California Community Colleges (CCC) Chancellor’s Office, is now being offered free to all CCCs, with funding becoming available in the 2014-15 state budget.

California Virtual CampusAn update to the California Virtual Campus distance education catalog for 2014 lists 19,431 courses and 1,421 programs offered online by 167 accredited higher education institutions in California.

The total includes 10,726 courses and 676 degree programs offered by the California Community Colleges.

Online Education Initiative Steering Committee Meeting, June 6, 2014The Online Education Initiative (OEI) received an outstanding and unexpected 58 responses to its call for pilot colleges, giving the steering committee and launch team plenty of variables to consider before identifying the pilot colleges for the first phase of this initiative.

After careful review of 37 pilot-college applications for the Common Assessment Initiative, the CAI leadership team recommended 12 colleges to participate in the pilot, which begins with work group meetings during the second week of July.

Having received responses from 13 colleges—three of which were from the same district—11 pilot colleges were chosen for the Education Planning Initiative (EPI).
